Providing home care can be very draining and taxing on family caretakers, especially children or grandchildren with full-time jobs and families of their own.
We look forward to helping your senior loved ones be the best they can be. With in-home assisted living as a lifestyle choice they can start a new, fresh take on daily living while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of home.
Our philosophy is to elevate the human spirit and our caregivers will be there every step of the way to ensure your loved one has a better quality of life.
Accreditation is an intensive process in which an organization’s processes, policies, and procedures are examined by industry experts against a set of quality standards. To achieve accredited status, Comfort Keepers offices met or exceeded the rigorous standards, for Home Care companies, as defined by Accreditation Canada. The standards that achieving accredited status are based upon include Client Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Employee Safety, and Healthy Work/Life Balance among others.
Achieving accreditation provides Comfort Keeper’s clients, their family, and loved ones with the assurance that they are receiving the best care possible. Comfort Keeper’s employees know that they are working for a company that is committed to providing a safe working environment where caregiving performance is recognized and rewarded. The ten offices across our national network including; Barrie, Collingwood, Edmonton, North and West Vancouver, Oakville, Red Deer, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg; who have each achieved accredited status demonstrates that Comfort Keepers has built a culture of quality, safety, and excellence, and reinforces Comfort Keepers’ role as a leading home care provider.
Comfort Keepers Canada President, Peter Drutz said: “Accreditation is part of a philosophy of Continuous Quality Improvement. In our constant quest for excellence, our accredited offices and the rest of our network continue to focus on, and invest in, furthering the quality of the services being provided.
Interactive Caregiving is at the very heart of Comfort Keepers’ services on the North Shore. We continually communicate with, involve and engage the elderly and those in need with everyday tasks and activities. Instead of “doing for” the clients, we provide care by “doing with” the clients, engaging participation at their level of function.
Keeping our clients physically, mentally, emotionally and socially involved can make a difference in their well-being. Interactive Caregiving is an opportunity to interact one-to-one with a person, engage them, learning about them, and giving them the gift of personalized, thoughtful attention to allow our clients to maintain their independence.

As part of the Senior Nutrition aspect of Interactive Caregiving, we focus on senior diet and nutrition through the Nourish Senior Life® Program. The Nourish Senior Life Program creates awareness towards the importance of a healthy diet for those 65 and older, and educates the public about malnutrition in seniors as well as providing screening for malnutrition. A proper diet helps seniors preserve their independence, and avoid in home care.
We use a four pronged approach to senior care called Interactive Caregiving. This model of elderly care helps increase seniors’ sense of well-being and independence by focusing on Senior Mind, Senior Body, Senior Nutrition, and Senior Safety. When a child or grandchild of an elderly or senior loved one approaches us, it is usually as a result of a fall, malnutrition, or medication mismanagement. By focusing on these four areas of mind, body, nutrition, and safety, we are addressing the main reasons a senior or elderly person needs home senior care in the first place. It is our goal to return your elderly loved one back to a more self-sufficient way of life.
