Comfort Keepers is working in conjunction with Clinical Trial Research companies and Patient Assistant Programs in an effort to curb patient retention issues. Often with people in different stages of the degenerative disease and the extreme winters in our climate, mobility becomes a major factor for many clinical based trials. Sometimes 2-3 missed treatment visits can result in inconclusive research data.
Providing in-home nursing solutions for administering treatment, sample collection and symptom analysis can be a simple and easy solution to patient retention issues. It is also a more attractive method to the client having the treatment provided in the comfort of their own home.
Comfort Keepers works tirelessly with the research team to provide individual training for each unique trial and adopts the necessary data collection program being used to meet the research team needs.
One of the major challenges that the Health Care system is facing in Ontario is the number of hospital beds available. Comfort Keepers Patient Assistant Programs provides Nurses and Personal Support Workers to assist with many of these needs in the patient’s home and in respite care homes. This helps to open up much-needed beds in hospitals. A daily care plan and monitoring of nutritional intake can greatly reduce the chance of readmission.
