January 2025: We have a lovely care person, Paulette, who takes care of our parents needs once a week. Our parents continue to live independently in a retirement home, with support from Comfort Keepers. Paulette has been with our parents since 2022 and has helped them to negotiate transitioning from their condo to a retirement place. It gave us peace of mind, as not all of us live close by. Paulette offers her nurturing guidance with my Mum, who lives with dementia and includes her in simple tasks, to encourage engagement. Also, Paulette’s great sense of humour brings kindness and laughter into their home, which is exactly what our parents need. Brenda at Comfort Keepers, who is very prompt with her replies, organized a perfect match for our parents.
