When you begin your journey with Comfort Keepers, our expert care coordinators will schedule an in-house assessment in order to find out more about your parent. During this consultation, our care experts will talk to you and your loved one, encouraging other family members and friends to participate in the conversation.
We will explore your loved one’s health condition and care needs. Also, we will look at their living situation, likes and dislikes, personal preferences, and more. We will also carefully listen to family members who would like to share some valuable input with us.
After gathering vital information about your loved one, we’ll proceed with building an in-home care for the elderly plan. It will be tailored to meet your parent’s exact needs. We will also propose making some adjustments to your loved one’s home. This is to provide them with the safest possible living environment. This is known as fall proofing or senior proofing the home. This can include removing clutter, installing handrails and grab bars, securing rugs, and rearranging small furniture.
Once you and your loved one approve the care plan, we’ll match your loved one with one of our loving in home care for the elderly providers. This will make sure that your parent and the care experts are compatible in terms of personality, experiences, and more.
It’s important to note that you or your loved one can request changes to the care plan at any point. We will also reassess the care plan every six months or less. This is to ensure that your loved one is receiving adequate care.
While working with us, you can choose to take part in your loved one’s care as much as you see fit. You can decide whether you want to remain the primary caregiver and opt for part-time. Or you can decide respite care or let’s take care of your loved one on a full-time or 24-hour basis.
Whatever the case, we will provide you with updates on your senior mom or dad’s condition daily. This can give you peace of mind that your loved one is safe. Also let you know that they are happy with our in-home care for the elderly providers.
