At Comfort Keepers, we are extremely proud to provide in home elder care for veterans who risked their lives for the safety and prosperity of our nation. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to pay them back for serving our nation in times of need.
In addition to providing our services to veterans, we can also help you or your loved one apply for VA benefits. As this can be a time-consuming process for some veterans, we can provide you with all the necessary information you may need to begin the application process and gather the paperwork. This way, you or your loved one can receive VA benefits much sooner and avoid any delays.
In order to qualify, several criteria have to be met. If a veteran served 90 days of active military duty, with a minimum of one day during wartime, they may be qualified for the VA benefit. Keep in mind that those 90 days must serve consecutively. Also, those who honorably discharged are eligible. The second criterion is that a veteran must need financial help for in home elder care. The final criterion is having documentation that proves that a veteran needs home care to maintain a quality lifestyle. The surviving spouses of veterans can also receive VA benefits.
It’s also important to note that some veterans are not aware that they can receive VA benefits for in-home care. If you are not sure whether you or a loved one are eligible, you can contact us at any time. We will be more than happy to research your specific case.
As soon as a veteran is approved for the program, Comfort Keepers start developing an individual in home elder care plan. That can allow for greater freedom and independence in daily activities.
