It’s natural for a senior loved one to feel as if a significant part of their freedom has been taken away when they can no longer drive. It’s also common for people to feel confined at home and reliant on others for even the most basic duties. Something as simple as grocery shopping becomes a major chore.

Most families want to help their loved ones – and they do. However, it can be difficult for them to find time in their busy schedules to drive them about town on workdays. Seniors also don’t want to feel like a burden to their relatives and friends. Comfort Keepers senior’s transportation service is the answer to this challenge. How We Help

Our service is different from a taxicab. We provide accompanied incidental transportation for seniors and adults. This means that we offer great value to those who need or want a qualified professional Caregiver accompany their loved one to and fro. In lieu of having a friend or relative, we will be there with them. We will make every effort to make them comfortable and help as needed.

3 examples of what we do:

  1. Medical Appointments: Our Caregiver will accompany your loved one from their home, going with them to a hospital or medical office. We will also return them home once finished. We will remain with them, ensure they are comfortable, and we will advocate on their behalf when needed.
  2. Medical Procedures: Our Caregiver will come to meet your loved one at the hospital or clinic. Moreover, we can help with their discharge and arrange transportation. We help pick up any necessities on the way home (prescriptions, groceries), ensure they are hydrated, well-fed, and comfortably resting at home to aid in their recovery.
  3. Social and Recreational Appointments: Our Caregiver can help maintain a healthy and active social and recreational routine. They can accompany your loved one for a day out, whenever the mood strikes, or we can schedule a regular routine to keep a good thing going. Whether this means accompanying your loved one to church on a Sunday, or to a banquet hall for their granddaughter’s wedding, or to a local jazz festival to enjoy the sights and sounds, we are able to help.

We offer many solutions for accompanied incidental transportation. Options include taxi, wheelchair accessible taxi, medical transfer ambulance, or private car. Contact us to discuss which options are required, and which ones are available in your area.

Transportation Service Is Just The Start

Our seniors transportation services are a part of a bigger package. This can include as many care services as your loved one needs. We will help with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, medication reminders, personal care, and more.

Also, we will provide you peace of mind that your loved one is perfectly safe whenever they need to leave their home. Providing seniors with lots of opportunities for mental and physical stimulation is important. Being able to go out and about whenever they feel like it prevents loneliness and isolation. It also keeps seniors active and engaged.
