As the country continues to experience its recent history of long, hot summers, it is becoming vitally important that we understand symptoms of heat-related illnesses, especially for our seniors - so here's some non-medical advise on Summer Safety for Seniors.
Virtually Hosted Events are a free service offered by Comfort Keepers in response to the challenges COVID-19 has created for the social interaction that is so necessary for Seniors. They are safe alternatives to in-person activities normally offered by senior residences and activity centres. Participants can interact with their friends and/or family from the safety of their own rooms/homes during structured social events hosted remotely and exclusively for you by our event host, Emily.
As we all prepare to keep our homes and families safe, it’s important to consider the needs of the seniors in our lives and in our communities, especially, maintaining their well-being during COVID-19 isolation.
Your home remains the safest place for you or your loved one, as indications show that the COVID-19 virus is spread more quickly in larger group or public settings. We feel fortunate to be able to provide care that can keep people at home and limit their exposure through personalized care and support.
