What we do
At home care nurses of all levels, including Licensed Practical and Registered Practical Nurses (LPNs/RPNs) as well as Registered Nurses (RNs), are highly skilled in performing a variety of nursing services such as:
- Giving injections, nebulizer treatments, inhalers, oxygen, and other drugs orally or topically.
- Nail clipping, foot care, mouth suctioning, and bowel monitoring are all examples of personal medical care that can be provided.
- Treatment of wounds.
- Tissue and blood samples.
- Assistance that might be needed after surgery.
- Drawing up and/or mixing insulin for future injections, evaluating blood sugar values and sliding scale dosages prescribed by Toronto physicians, and filling insulin syringes.

- Medication compliance can be improved by storing pills in weekly pill boxes or automatic dispensing equipment.
